April 4, 2023
Please detail a bit of information about your experience/career background?
After receiving my master’s in Mathematics, I decided to start a games company with my business partner. I spent roughly three years designing and developing small indie games and learnt a lot about the development process.
Why Coconut Lizard?
After reaching what I felt were the limits of my own personal development, I decided I wanted to work for a co-development studio. Coconut Lizard stood out to me because of their commitment to best workplace practices, alongside their impressive portfolio of contributions to some of the world’s greatest games. The interview process was also genuinely enjoyable and gave me a great insight into the kind of company that I’d be working for.
What do you love about games?
Unlike film and music, games provide that all-important interactive element. For that reason, my experiences with games have been more memorable and more personal. Games are very much what you make of them, and I’ve been in love with that aspect since a very young age. The games that have had the biggest impact on me have been character/story-driven such as The Last of Us.
What games are you currently playing, and what is your favourite game?
I’m a bit of a late bloomer but I’m going through my Elden Ring phase now. My favourite games are The Witcher 3, Hollow Knight, Factorio and Frostpunk to name a few. I’d say that my favourite genres are Metroidvanias, RPGs and Factory Sims.
Any fun facts or hobbies?
I have been composing/playing music on the piano since around 14 as a hobby and regularly incorporate my pieces into my personal game-dev projects. I am also a great board game enthusiast!
